Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about our junk removal, cleanouts, pricing, and what we haul.
What areas do The Junk Guys serve?
We serve homeowners and businesses across Southwest Louisiana including Lake Charles, Sulphur, Westlake, Moss Bluff, Iowa, and the rest of Calcasieu and Cameron Parish.
How much does junk removal cost in Lake Charles?
Most jobs are priced by how much space they take up on our truck and trailer: a small load is $199, a half load $349, and a full truck-and-trailer load is $549. Packed-garage XL hauls are $997. Property and move-out cleanouts start at $897, estate cleanouts at $1,500 (jobs over $1,500 include a roll-off dumpster), and storm debris is $449 per load. A single item is a flat $249 full service for anything on a porch, patio, deck, yard, upstairs, or inside the house, dropping to $99 when the item is at the curb, driveway, or garage on level ground, with no steps and no gate. A few items carry a disposal fee on top of the pickup price, because the dump charges us for them: fridges, freezers, AC units, and water heaters add $30, mattresses $25, tires $15, and old tube TVs $50. It is in the number we quote you, before we load. Big awkward items are priced by the piece, not by truck space: jet skis, small boats, utility trailers, hot tubs, pianos, gun safes, pool tables, riding mowers, ATVs, and sheds. They take a winch, straps, and a crew, so they cost more than the space they fill. Campers, RVs, travel trailers, mobile homes, and boats 16 feet and over we price individually after we see them, because those run from a pop-up to a forty-footer. Tell us what you have and we will give you the number up front. You always get one firm price before we start.
What will you haul, and what won't you take?
We haul almost anything: furniture, appliances, mattresses, hot tubs, sheds, construction debris, yard debris, e-waste, and full garage, attic, and estate cleanouts. We can't take hazardous materials like paint, chemicals, oil, asbestos, or biohazard waste without a custom quote, and we reserve the right to refuse them.
Do you offer same-day junk removal?
Yes, when our schedule allows. Call early and we'll do our best to get a truck to you the same day. Otherwise we'll book the next available slot — usually within a day or two.
Do I need to move everything outside first?
No. We do all the heavy lifting. Point at what you want gone — in the garage, attic, backyard, or upstairs — and we carry it out and load it. You don't lift a thing.
How does pricing work — by volume or by item?
Most jobs are priced by how much space the junk takes up on our truck and trailer. For a single item, it's a flat pickup fee, and access decides which one: $249 for anything on a porch, patio, deck, yard, upstairs, or inside the house, or $99 when the item is at the curb, driveway, or garage on level ground, with no steps and no gate. You always get a firm price before we load anything — no surprises.
Do you haul jet skis, boats, hot tubs, and pianos?
Yes, and these are the one category we do not price by truck space. A jet ski, small boat, utility trailer, hot tub, piano, gun safe, pool table, riding mower, ATV, or shed has to be winched, strapped, and walked out by a crew, so it costs more than the space it takes up — and two of something costs more than one. Tell us exactly what you have and how many and we will give you a firm number up front. Campers, RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, mobile homes, and boats 16 feet and over are the exception: those range from a pop-up to a forty-footer, and there is usually a title, propane, and holding tanks to deal with, so Jake prices those himself after seeing it.
What do you do with the junk?
We donate usable items to local charities when we can, recycle metal and e-waste, and dispose of the rest responsibly at the proper facility. Less goes to the landfill that way.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. The Junk Guys LLC is a fully licensed and insured Louisiana company, carrying general liability coverage.
